Javier Besoin
Besoin’s writings are word settings inspired by reality, emphasizing accuracy, that invite one to feel, reflect and visualize. Javier highlights the hidden beauty of everyday life, transforming the ordinary into something brightly extraordinary and revealing the complex patterns of life, work and human relationships. Everyday life gets more color with powerful brushstrokes.
For Besoin’s “Operation 40: Tight Grip” we decided to create some movement pieces for parts of the texts, which as a final result of the process, took the form of choreography for three poems in the work. As the book mainly reflects a masculine perspective and expresses masculine energy, the creative process paradoxically turned out so that the movements were set and performed by talented women Keity Pook and Laura Kvelstein, with the wonderful Ruta Ronja Pakalne as the film director.
The photo series accompanying the text describing Javier’s background also expresses the woman who is Besoin’s companion. Keity’s timeless beauty provides a necessary elegant, yet powerfully playful touch.

Background
Dive into Besoin’s world, where a chic industrial stride meets poetic elegance. Curiosity, ambition, extroversion, playfulness, and courage intertwine, forming physically tangible textures that interact with everything around them. The orchestra plays, the piano solos, human bodies move, and emotional moments are captured on screens. The conductor of all these situations is in the house, and it is Javier.
